GOSHA OSTRETSOV

Georgy (Gosha) Ostretsov is a famous Russian artist and one of the brightest representatives of the Moscow avant-garde artistic life of the eighties. He was born in Mosсow in 1967, graduated from the School of Theatre Design at the Bolshoi Theatre in 1984 and began to work as an artist, showing his work at numerous exhibitions. In 1988 he moved to Paris, where he lived and worked for ten years, including three years as artist and designer at Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, as well as collaborating with Jean-Paul Gaultier and Luc Besson. The artist now lives and works in Moscow.

 

Gosha’s works are found in the collections of the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art of the Russian Academy of Arts in Moscow, the Museum of the Arctic and Antarctic in St. Petersburg, in the private collections of Charles Saatchi, Simon de Pury, Lawrence Graff and others.
